Am I crazy I’m EXCITED I got injured at work?
Hear me out on this.

I got injured at work last week. My hamstring and probably my ACL. Worker’s Comp urgent care gave me the “good news” my knee isn’t broken or dislocated. Well no *ish sherlock. I could have told you that without an x-ray! Based on the pain, the second doctor ordered an MRI, but I have to wait for insurance approval.
Seriously, at this point, the pain is getting so bad I’m tempted to go to my own doctor and get the MRI on my own, cost be damned.
Here’s why I’m excited.
Lately, I’ve been feeling like work is taking away from business. But work is what’s paying the bill for now. But I soooo want to dedicate more time to my business and grow my passion. So now I’m on light duty. I have to show up to work, but since I can barely walk, and I sure can’t climb into a rig, all I can do is sit on a couch and watch TV. But I’m a more active person than that. I CAN’T just sit on the couch and do nothing for months on end.
So this is what I needed. I’m not worried about surgery AT ALL. I get paid to sit on the couch, and I’m being productive with working on my business.

Here’s what I’m doing:
- Increasing the frequency of my posting on social media. Like, I have a full-on strategy right now! I’m going to be trying to get published. I’m going to continue to share my 20 years of nutrition education/experience, and start sharing my fitness education. Now that I have the certifications behind me, I feel I have the qualifications to speak, as well as the experience.
- Dedicating time to learning Farsi (Persian). I moved to LA initially to join the Iranian community for language immersion. When I had my breakdown in 2019, I had to leave. But the passion to learn the language has never left. So now I have a college textbook and I’m going to be working on it every day I’m at work.
- Increased blogging time. I am going to be documenting my healing journey using a whole foods, animal-based way of eating (I hate the word diet). I’m going to be working on recipe creation. Like last night’s dinner… total accident and SO delicious! Now I need to duplicate it and measure out the ingredients… it’s a whole thing. But I can do this weekly, at least, I’m sure. So be ready for new recipes.
I’m expecting to be on light duty for several months. I’m soooo excited for how my business can grow in those few months.
